Having delivered two children, and having lived a sedentary life, she soon saw her weight balloon. And I was amazed when S shared pictures of herself with her younger son – a stark contrast to the fit silhouette she now sports.
By the end of this year she would be gunning for her first full marathon.
I am in awe.
“It wasn’t easy in the beginning,” S shared over a tete a tete post training (we run with the 2XU people on Wednesdays for now), when we started talking about how we got into running in the first place. “I started with (running to one lamppost) then back. One became two. Then I got further and further.”
It’s mind-boggling; she’s amazing, this woman. How far she has come. I am so proud of her.
Likewise, I was astounded to read about how Pamela Anderson had completed her first full marathon last year, and in less than six hours. She was 46 years old.
I have never been a fan of her, but this really won me over. Mad props to this lady, and the rest of the iron men/ women whose fortitude and mental strength really inspire and awe me, and push me to go on.
I will be like you, one day.
